The former quaint British fish & chips eatery has been turned over to the well established neighborhood Italian restaurant owners, currently of 'Cacio e Pepe'. This 1,800 sq. ft. space is converting into a very hi-end pizzeria, complete with wine cellar and authentic brick pizza oven, scheduled to open mid-August 2006. It is located just blocks south of its sister restaurant, quintessential Roman style neighborhood favorite. Veteran salesperson, Sonya Mechkor, with the assistance of Alex Picken, president of Picken Real Estate, consummated the sale. The lease was extended to a ten year term at the previous below market rent. Mechkor concluded the start-to-finish genial transaction in late May 2006.

Picken Real Estate’s Sonya Mechkor sold this Manhattan restaurant in 2004, formerly the restaurant Sapore Due. The below-market restaurant lease was extended to a full 10 years at this fully fixtured Greenwich Village corner premise. The current Spanish cuisine restaurant also makes good use of their sidewalk café.

The 20,000 sq. ft. cabaret, formerly known as the popular and highly visible nightclub Centro-Fly, was sold by nightlife real estate broker Alex Picken, with the assistance of Yaron Zohar of Home Quest Properties, to the current tenants. The new establishment opened as restaurant/nightclub Duvet, where club-goers eat and drink in bed, in the heart of the Flatiron District in Manhattan, with a below-market rent.

Formerly known as “Le Bar Bat,” this New York nightclub/live music venue, which was purchased by the current owners in 2004, beautifully morphed into a tri-level restaurant with full bar, lounge and dance club. Picken Real Estate’s Alex Picken took the buyers through a bankruptcy auction to obtain the current lease at that time. With the assistance of Stu Morden of Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Picken was able to locate and negotiate with the landlord in extending the lease.
